Hailing from Basantpur in Bhojpur, Dr. Vashishtha Narayan Singh was a mathematical genius. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and worked at NASA. Despite battling schizophrenia for much of his life, his contributions to mathematics, particularly in reproducing cycle vector space theory, are legendary.
