Pandit Siyaram Tiwari was a doyen of the Darbhanga gharana of Dhrupad singing. His powerful and soulful renditions of Dhrupad and other classical forms earned him widespread acclaim. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1971 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his immense contribution to Indian classical music.
