Born in Arrah, Sachchidananda Sinha was a key figure in the movement for a separate Bihar province. He was a distinguished lawyer, a member of the Imperial Legislative Council, and the first Indian to be appointed as a finance member of a province. He is most famously remembered for being the interim President of the Constituent Assembly of India, which was responsible for drafting the Constitution. He was also instrumental in establishing the Patna University.
