Contribution
Dashrath Manjhi is a symbol of extraordinary perseverance and love. A poor laborer from Gehlaur village near Gaya, he single-handedly carved a 360-foot-long path through a mountain after his wife died due to lack of timely medical care. For 22 years (1960–1982), he worked tirelessly to shorten the travel distance from 55 km to just 15 km, connecting his village to essential services. His story is a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit.
