Contribution
Aryabhata's major work, the Aryabhatiya, was a compendium of mathematics and astronomy. He is credited with the concept of zero, the modern place-value system, and providing remarkably accurate calculations for the length of the solar year and the value of π (pi). His work laid the foundation for much of modern mathematics and astronomy.
